Predicting Burst Pressure with Precision

At Taniq, we are continuously pushing the boundaries of winding technology. In our latest study, we developed an advanced FEA model to accurately predict the burst pressure of dry filament wound cord-rubber composite pressure vessels.

Why does this matter? Traditional models often struggle to capture local stress concentrations in the unique filament winding mosaic pattern, leading to inaccuracies in burst pressure predictions. Our approach significantly improves accuracy.
How did we do it? We utilized a submodelling-based global–local FEA approach, linking global displacements to local deformation states. The model integrates fiber damage criteria and has been verified against experimental burst tests, achieving an error margin of just 6.5%—a major leap forward compared to conventional methods.
